Camping and Group Camping

COVID-19 Alert:  The following changes to CAMPING registrations have been implemented:

  • Camping registrations must be made online or by calling the office.  Campsites may be registered for online (search by Date or search by Park) or by phone at (608) 224-3730 between 7:45 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. (Monday - Friday), leave a message and someone will return your call. In-person self-registrations are no longer available at the campground. We apologize for any inconvenience.

  • Babock, Mendota and William G. Lunney Lake Farm Campgrounds are currently open to self-contained camping units only (no tents for 2020 season) for electrical sites only. Self-contained camping units are motor homes or trailers equipped with a fully functioning toilet, water storage container which holds water for the toilet and shower, and a septic tank to take care of any waste. Dump stations and potable water are available. Public restrooms and showers are NOT available for regular use.
     
  • Brigham and Token Creek Campgrounds are open to all types of camping units; Brigham has pit toilets/potable water and Token Creek has bathrooms/showers.
     
  • Group Camping must be reserved by calling the office (608) 224-3730 and is limited to 25 people or less.

Camping funDane County Parks has campsites that can be reserved for tents, campers, and RVs. All campsite reservations include a complimentary daily dog permit good for the duration of your stay. Please visit our Dogs in Parks page for more information about this permit.

Individual Campsites

Dane County offers campsites at five different parks. Each campground has an accessible site and offers electric sites. Campsite check in begins at 3:00 p.m. the first day of the reservation and check out is no later than 3:00 p.m. on the last day of the reservation. There is a maximum of 6 people and one tent or RV per campsite.

Reserve a Campsite

Group Campsites

Group campsites are larger, rustic (pit toilets and water) areas where a larger group of campers may camp together.  Reservations are required. There is no minimum stay requirement but there is a maximum stay of 14 days. Group campsites are popular with youth groups and family/friend events.  Please contact the Parks Office at (608) 224-3730 to make a group campsite reservation.
