Event Dates

- Wednesday, 09/18/2024
Event Description
The two part workshop, hosted by the Rock River Coalition, will consist of a virtual webinar on May 30th, 2024 and a field component on September 18th, 2024 at the Briggs Wetland, a property owned by The Prairie Enthusiasts in Rock County. Conservation practitioners will share information regarding how to diagnosis hydrological impairments, ecological and societal benefits of nature-based solutions, design criteria, risk assessment, financial assistance and permitting for low-tech, process-based restoration. The September field day will give participants hands-on experience building these types of projects, utilizing beaver dam analogs to restore natural spring flow to the Briggs Wetland and adjacent East Fork of Raccoon Creek. Registration for the virtual webinar is open to all, but registration for the September field day will be limited.
