Mud Lake Wildlife Area

The 113-acre Mud Lake Wildlife Area is a public hunting area that surrounds the western half of Mud Lake in the Town of Roxbury and is primarily grassland and crop fields, with a small isolated woodlot in the north central portion. Parking is available at Fish Lake County Park or from the west at the intersection of Haas Road and Inama Road.

Special hunting regulations:

  • The use of rifles, slugs, pistols or muzzleloaders is prohibited for hunting all legal game and predator species within the Mud Lake Wildlife Area.
  • Trapping is prohibited on this property by Dane County Board Action.  These lands are not required by the State to be open to hunting or trapping.
