The Friends of Pheasant Branch Conservancy have requested a change in the current dog policy for a portion of the County lands at the north end of the Pheasant Branch Conservancy.  The proposal would not allow for on leash dog walking within the restored critical wildlife habitat area to help protect birds and other wildlife. The proposed area is located north of the parking lot and the multi-use trail that traverse East – West across the property.  The critical habitat area is approximately 96 acres in size and makes-up about 17% of the total public land base for the Conservancy. The main features within the County lands include a “Hill” with a Scenic Overlook and Indian Mounds.

Park Staff will outline the proposed request and take public input; a presentation will be given that will include:

  • Maps
  • Signage
  • Education
  • Implementation

The Friends of Pheasant Branch will provide:

  • The reason for policy change within the restored critical habitat area
  • Background on their research
