The Dane County Park Commission consists of seven members appointed by the County Executive and confirmed by the County Board. Authorization of the Dane County Park Commission is given under Wisconsin State Statute 27.02(2).
The Park Commission oversees three program areas of the Parks Division in the Land & Water Resources Department, including:
- Operations and maintenance
- Planning and development
- Land acquisition

Park Commission generally meets the second and fourth Wednesday each month. The normal meeting at the Parks Main Office located at the Lyman Anderson Agricultural and Conservation Center, 5201 Fen Oak Drive Madison WI 53718.
The public is welcome to attend these meetings.
